A fire direction officer from 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment changes Command Sgt. Maj. Dennis Woods’ combat patch from the 173rd Airborne Brigade to the 82nd Airborne Division leaving only the Airborne Tab at his request, saying he should be patched over before speaking the paratroopers of the 82nd. Woods, the Center for Initial Military Training command sergeant major, was at the 82nd Airborne Division Artillery Headquarters on Fort Bragg March 17 to demonstrate the capabilities of his M119 direct fire night optic device. His invention called the M913 GELON, in honor of the artillery regiment he served most of his career with – No Leg 319. (Capt. Joe Bush, 82nd Airborne DIVARTY/ Released.)
