Col. Sean M. McBride, center right, and Satoshi, Yamada, retired Ishikawa chief of police, center, met for an award ceremony March 12 at Camp Hansen. The Marine Corps awarded the certificate for actions Yamada performed as chief of police. Yamada is retiring as the police chief after two years. Yamada worked with the III Marine Expeditionary Force by helping with disaster relief, anti-terrorism and evacuation drills, the drunken driving campaign and spoke at the welcome aboard seminars for Marines on the Unit Deployment Program. Yamada is from Naha City, Okinawa. McBride is from Butte, Montana, and is the commanding officer for III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, III MEF. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
