150309-N-FR671-035 PACIFIC OCEAN (March 9, 2015) – Fire Controlman 3rd Class Varinda Thongpet and Fire Controlman 2nd Class Joshua Marshe, both assigned to amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), prepare to rig a RIM-116 rolling airframe missile during a missile upload. America is currently conducting maritime training operations off the coast of California. The ship is the first of its class and is optimized for Marine Corps aviation.
