Marines work together to pack up the forward command element, swiftly but diligently, to move it to a new firing point March 5 during Dragon Fire Exercise 15-2 at Pohakuloa Training Area, Kona, Hawaii. “Once the forward is up and is able to control fires and communicate, the main can start packing and jump to where the forward is, that is the close,” said Capt. Robert F. Nicolai. “When they take over the new position, the forward prepares to take a new position.” Nicolai, a Beaverton, Oregon, native, is a maintenance management and motor transport officer. Nicolai and the Marines are with Headquarters Battery, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. William Hester/Released)
