Garcia is one of many new recruits to the Army and Army Reserve who is being trained by a group of Army Reserve drill sergeants in what is known as the Echo Mission. Every year a team of Army Reserve drill sergeants from the 108th Training Command (IET) takes over a basic combat training company at one of the Army's four initial entry training posts and provides quality instruction and mentorship alongside their active duty counterparts.
