    III Marine Expeditionary Force   

    U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Edgar P. Marty, right, helps Muraoka Satoshi, a Japan Self-Defense Force Officer Candidate, operate a U.S. Marine Corps forklift, during a U.S. Marine vehicle and equipment display Feb. 26 on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan. Marines from 12th Marines and 3rd Battalion 12th Marines displayed eight different vehicles and over ten weapons, for more than 300 JSDF Officer Candidates. Satoshi, from Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, is a member of the Japanese Observer Exchange Program. JOEP provides opportunities for III Marine Expeditionary Force Marines and JSDF personnel to observe training of their counterparts in order to increase mutual understanding and interoperability.
