PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 06, 2015) – Quartermaster 3rd Class Ciaran Steinkamp, from San Francisco, measures wind speed using an anemometer on the bridge wing of amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22). San Diego, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, and the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit are returning to homeport San Diego following a seven-month deployment to the Western Pacific and the U.S. Central Command areas of operation.
