U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Tiry Crane, 352nd Special Operations Maintenance Squadron CV-22B Osprey crew chief from Columbia, Mo., repairs a CV-22B Osprey propeller Jan. 29, 2015, on RAF Mildenhall, England. The CV-22B is a tiltrotor aircraft that combines the vertical takeoff, hover and vertical landing qualities of a helicopter with the long-range, fuel efficiency and speed characteristics of a turboprop aircraft. Its mission is to conduct long-range infiltration, exfiltration and resupply missions for special operations forces. Vital to the special operations mission, maintainers are prepared to fix the aircraft when necessary ensuring the Ospreys are ready to fly at all times.
