A woman in a wet white t-shirt is crawling under a wooden A-frame obstacle structure strung with ropes or wires on a wet surface, appearing to be part of a military-style obstacle course or physical training exercise. Several military personnel in uniform are visible in the background, one holding a fire hose. The setting appears to be on a ship's deck or outdoor training area, with participants soaking wet.

    USS Makin Island (LHD 8)

Sailors from USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and Marines from the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit participate in a "crossing the line" ceremony. It is a traditional rite-of-passage ceremony carried out to appease King Neptune, the mythological god of the seas. Makin Island, the flagship of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is on a deployment with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit to promote peace and freedom of the seas by providing security and stability in the 7th Fleet area of operations.
