Adam Ereli, the United States ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Vice Adm. Wiiliam E. Gortney, commander of 5th Fleet, and Lt. General Dr. Sheik Mohammed Bin Abdulla Bin Khalid Al Khalifa, the Minister of State of Defense of the Kingdom of Bahrain, prepare to cut a cake during a reception aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower during her historic port visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Eisenhower is the first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier to dock at the newly-completed Khalifa bin Salman Port. The Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group is underway for a regularly scheduled deployment in support of the ongoing rotation of forward-deployed forces to support Operation Enduring Freedom maritime security operations and operate in international waters across the globe.
