A military helicopter, identifiable as a U.S. Navy MH-60 Seahawk based on visible 'NAVY' markings and tail number, hovers over an arid desert terrain. Two personnel are fast-roping from the aircraft — one mid-descent on the rope and one near the ground — while additional crew members are visible in the open cabin door. The rotor blades are motion-blurred, indicating active flight.

Soldiers from Iraq's 9th Battalion, Iraqi special operations forces, fast-rope onto the roof of a building, April 22. The soldiers, advised by U.S. Special Operations Forces, trained into the night improving their ability to quickly exit helicopters both by rope and on foot. Knowing that the ability to rapidly get out of the helicopter may be the difference between the capture of a suspected terrorist or his escape, the Soldiers trained diligently until after sundown.
