    1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division

    Two M2A3 Bradley Fighting Vehicles from Company A, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, prepare to start a live-fire training exercise at Adazi Training Area, Latvia, Nov. 21, 2014. The exercise consisted of Latvian troops assaulting a village to perform a hostage rescue while U.S. mechanized infantry and armor from 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry, provided site security. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
