Airman 1st Class Wade Helms calls the names of travelers to board a bus that will take them to an awaiting C-5 Galaxy bound for Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, on April 17. The 60th, 44th, 55th, and 82nd Aerial Port Squadrons operates AMC's primary west coast aerial port. During CY08 the Travis team loaded 51,849 cargo tons, 43,486 passengers and supported 5,393 missions. The unit, its flights and people have garnered top awards from command to national defense level. They support seven U.S. Air Force major commands, Department of Homeland Security, and all DoD services' air transportation needs with a budget of $4.8 million. More than 530 assigned personnel support traffic management services, passenger/cargo movement on airlift missions maintaining a global deployment capability for the largest wing in AMC.
