U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Eliot Fiashi from the Military Working Dog Unit at Camp Lemonier, Djibouti, looks on as his partner "Meky" enjoys a much deserved break in the shade after successfully completing explosive detection certification training, April 14. Petty Officer Fiashi and Meky are one of the MWD teams assigned to Camp Lemonier used for explosive/narcotic detection as well as security patrols. The MWD unit uses training aids which mimic distinct bomb's odor and are a significant part of the certification process for working dog teams.
