    Army Gen. Douglas and Kapes ran 100-meter visually impaired race during the track and field portions of Warrior Games 2014. Douglas also competed in discus, shot put, 200-meter race, and 400-meter race. Douglas was serving in a Civil Affairs team in Iraq in 2007 when his dwelling was hit by mortar shells. As a result of this attack, Douglas sustained a TBI which caused mobility, balance and vision deficiencies. The Warrior Games, founded in 2010, are designed to support healing and recovery of wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans through adaptive sports.
