Retired U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. Bennie G. Adkins stands with senior Army leaders before being inducted into the Hall of Heroes during a ceremony at the Pentagon in Arlington, Va., Sept. 16, 2014. Adkins was awarded the Medal of Honor Sept. 15, 2014, for actions during a battle at Camp A Shau, South Vietnam, March 9-12, 1966.
