A jet engine is undergoing a static thrust test inside an enclosed test cell facility. The engine is mounted on a test stand and is firing, producing a visible exhaust plume with a blue-purple luminescent flame directed toward a large octagonal exhaust duct opening in the wall. The facility appears to be a dedicated engine test cell with metal-paneled walls and industrial support equipment.

The 35th Maintenance Squadron test cell, or hush house, provides a testing area for an F110-GE-129 engine March 4. Once kicked into full gear, the engine produced about 29,000 pounds of thrust and burned more than 2,000 gallons of fuel during testing.
