Pyle, a Pittsburgh, native and member of Company B, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade shakes hands with President Barack Obama during a troop event held Sept. 3 in Tallinn, Estonia. During his visit Obama spoke to American paratroopers and Estonian soldiers stating, “You are sending a powerful message that as NATO allies we stand together … we stand as one.” The 173rd Airborne Brigade is currently conducting combined training missions in Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, an exercise dedicated to demonstrating commitment to NATO obligations and maintaining interoperability with allied forces.
