F-35A Lightning II crew chiefs from the 61st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, perform preflight inspections on the flightline at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz. Aug. 22, 2014. In addition to preflight inspections, (from top) Senior Airman Nikolas Kinder, Staff Sgt. Aaron Booth, and Staff Sgt. Arthur Verchot, are responsible for servicing aircraft systems to ensure the aircraft is ready for flight during the day. There are three shifts to include; day-shift, swing-shift, and mid-shift, who perform specific responsibilities which lead to overall mission success.
