More than 100 active duty, Reserve and Air National Guard Airmen lined Petco Stadium during the pre-game ceremony at the San Diego Padres' U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard Appreciation Day, Aug. 31, 2014. Other activities included a mass-enlistment, posting of the colors, an Air Force Reservist singing the national anthem, the ceremonial first pitch, Airmen posted at each position to greet the players as they initially took the field and the ringing of the Mission Bell to start the game.
