Lance Cpl. Charles Stites, an Everettsville, Kansas, native, waits for support while controlling a simulated hostile threat Aug. 20 at the Combat Town facility in the Central Training Area. The Marines trained for military operations on urbanized terrain to brush up on basic skills like close-quarter combat. Stites is an anti-tank missileman with Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
