Just under 1,000 multinational soldiers are taking part in a computer-simulated exercise working shoulder to shoulder to respond to a regional crisis while in fact adding another chapter to NATO partnership building and in this case stronger regional security in the Balkan region of Europe. Immediate Response 14 is a U.S. Army Europe sponsored exercise hosted by Slovenian this year. IR14 is designed to prepare participating nations for increased contributions to ongoing and future NATO post ISAF operations, while enhancing regional cooperation, confidence and security assurance among regional Balkan allies.
