Republic of Korea Marines face each other during a football game with their U.S. Marine counterparts July 19 at 1st ROK Marine Division Base, Pohang, South Korea, before starting Korean Marine Exchange Program 14-12. The U.S. and ROK Marines played friendly games of soccer and football as combined teams to build unit cohesion. KMEP is a series of regularly scheduled bilateral exercises that enhance interoperability between U.S. and ROK Marines and strengthens the existing relationship between the two forces. The U.S. Marines are with Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The ROK Marines are with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 1st ROK Marine Division.
