Army paratroopers from the 3rd Battalion (Airborne), 509th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, U.S. Army Alaska, jump from a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III, jointly operated by the 3rd Wing's 517th Airlift Squadron and an Alaska Air National Guard unit, the 176th Airlift Squadron during a demonstration on July 25, 2014, in support of Arctic Thunder Open House at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. Arctic Thunder is a biennial event hosted by JBER. Featuring more than 40 Air Force, Army and civilian aerial acts and an expected crowd of more than 200,000 people, it is the largest two-day event in the state and one of the premier aerial demonstrations in the world.
