Spc. Joseph Casaday, a member of Company D, 334th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, from Sioux City, Iowa, helps direct traffic and assists in crowd control minutes before Barack Obama was sworn in as the nation's 44th president on Jan. 20. Spc. Casaday said he was very proud to be a part of this historic event. Casady was in Washington, D.C. as part of a 1,000 member task force of Soldiers and Airmen from the Iowa National Guard sent to assist local and federal law enforcement agencies with security during the 56th presidential inauguration. This was the first time the Iowa National Guard participated in a presidential inauguration.
