An MV-22 Osprey carrying Marines and Sailors with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South waits for orders from an aircraft handler aboard the flight deck of the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), July 16, 2014. The SPMAGTF is scheduled to meet and train with Colombian Marines in Coveñas, Colombia. Not only is this the first stop on the ship's transit dubbed "America visits the Americas," it is also the first time Marines and Sailors will be tactically inserted into an environment from the newly built ship. Through partner-nation exchanges, key leader engagements, and security cooperation activities, the Marines and Sailors of SPMAGTF-South will demonstrate the flexibility, unity, and unparalleled expeditionary capability the Navy-Marine Corps team provides to our nation and partners.
