Spc. Elsa Delgado, from Yakima, Wash., and members of B Troop, 1-303rd, 81st Brigade Combat Team, Washington Army National Guard, are given a commander in chief coin by Washington Gov. Christine Gregiore during her visit to Iraq. The purpose of Gregiore's visit was to meet with Soldiers from Washington currently deployed to Iraq. Currently there are about 2,500 Washington National Guard Soldiers deployed to Iraq and around 900 reservists. Gregiore was following up on a promise she made to the 81st BCT, Washington Army National Guard when she sent them off in August. She met with several units from the 81st BCT across Iraq. The governor gave a Washington state flag to every unit she visited.
