This is the 18th century Canal de Castilla, a canal system that originally contained 50 locks. This portion, once used to transport crops, is located in Fromista, Spain. Barney Schulte, a structural engineer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, took this photo May 16, 2014, during his 490-mile pilgrimage of Camino de Santiago, an ancient path that Christians retrace for spiritual renewal.
