Ordinance Marines at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms communicate with hand-and-arm signals during arming or de-arming of the AH-1 Super Cobra helicopters, as the engine and rotor noise is too loud to hear audible commands. Ordie team members arm the M197 Gatling Gun, and pilots place their hands high over their heads, demonstrating they will not accidentally hit any buttons during the arming procedure.
