Maj. Gen. Riho Terras, Estonia's chief of defence, sits in the gunner’s hatch of an M1A2 Abrams tank during his visit to Fort Hood, June 9. Part of Terras’ visit took him to Sugarloaf Multi-Use Range where Soldiers of 2nd Battalion “Thunderhorse,” 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team “Ironhorse,” 1st Cavalry Division took him for a ride in the tank and let him fire the main gun. Terras talked with leaders throughout the division about the First Team’s regionally aligned forces in Europe. Elements of 1st BCT, 1st Cav. Div., are currently taking part in a multi-national training exercise, Combined Resolve II in Europe.
