Europe-based Soldiers lend helping hand to Latvian shelter [Image 8 of 10]

U.S. Army Soldiers with the 500th Engineer Company, 15th Engineer Battalion, out of Grafenwoehr, Germany, dig a trench to supply clean water for animals outside a local Zvanninieki Alternative Family Home May 30, 2014, in Vaive, Latvia. Approximately 120 soldiers from 500th Engineer Company and the 173rd Airborne Brigade based out of Vicenza, Italy, joined allied soldiers from a Latvian engineer company for the day’s community outreach event. The soldiers also collected and split firewood, and constructed the foundation for a barn, during the event, which was organized by the U.S. Embassy in Latvia. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
