A military aviator in a flight suit is reflected in the side mirror of a vehicle on an airfield tarmac. In the background, a large unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), consistent with a Northrop Grumman RQ-4 Global Hawk, is visible on the runway. The composition uses the mirror reflection as a creative framing device.

U.S. Air Force Col. Stephen Williams, 35th Fighter Wing commander, watches the RQ-4 Global Hawk conduct its first historic landing in Japanese territory on Misawa Air Base, May 24, 2014. During Operation Tomodachi, the Global Hawk was able to identify passable roads and territory to enable first responders to plan ingress and egress routes. The long-range and infrared cameras on the remotely piloted aircraft, provided commanders with more than 3,000 images of the disaster zone. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt. April Quintanilla)
