Juan Dominguez shows Soldiers from the Washington National Guard's Alpha Company, 181st Brigade Support Battalion, an example of how improvised explosive devices are concealed during IED recognition training at Joint Base Balad, Iraq, Dec. 6. The Soldiers were part of the first group to use the IED training range since the Air Force took control of it during the Base Operating Support-Integrator transition in October. Dominquez, the NCO in charge of counter-IED operations and a native of Mount Vernon, Wash., is deployed to the 3rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) from Fort Lawton, Wash.
