Brig. Gen. Joseph Caravalho Jr. (front), surgeon general, Multi-National Force-Iraq, and Lt. Col. David Ristedt, who serves as division surgeon with 4th Infantry Division and Multi-National Division-Baghdad, walk out of the Ibn al Bitar Cardiac Hospital in Baghdad after their visit Nov. 26. Caravalho, the senior U.S. medical officer in Iraq, Ristedt and other doctors and medical leaders from MND-B and MNF-I, visited hospitals in Baghdad to better assess for their needs and to determine the way forward in strengthening the Iraqi healthcare system.
