    Prosperity, S.C., native Staff Sgt. Andrew Perry (bottom), a heavy equipment operator for the Summerville, S.C.-based 1223rd Engineer Company, attached to the Little Rock, Ark.-based 489th Engineer Battalion, gives a few pointers on the operation of a hydraulic excavator to Phoenix native Col. Mark D. Collins, commander for the Fort Bragg, N.C.-based 82nd Sustainment Brigade-U.S. Central Command Materiel Recovery Element, at a deconstruction site on Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, April 16. Collins learned how to operate the hydraulic excavator and used it to partially demolish a building slated for deconstruction at the engineer project site.
