1st Lt. Bashir, a shurta wadaniya with the 1st Battalion, 5th Brigade, 2nd National Police Division, hands out school bags to Iraqi children at the Ibn al Maajid Primary School, Oct. 30, 2008, in the Risalah community of the Rashid District in southern Baghdad. Iraqi security forces worked with local leaders from the Risalah Neighborhood Advisory Council to provide for the needs of more than 60 schools in the community of approximately 250,000 Iraqi families and 12 muhallahs. The local NAC leaders are hopeful that the Soldiers of the 4th Bn., 64th Armor Regiment, attached to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, gains the support of the Ministry of Education to refurbish and supply the primary and secondary schools in the Risalah community.
