Sgt. Maj. Robert A. Allen Jr. salutes during the national anthem during the Marine Corps Air Station New River's relief and appointment and retirement ceremony held aboard MCAS New River, N.C., April 11. Allen relinquished his post as the air station sergeant major to Sgt. Maj. William H. Oldenburg. During the ceremony, noncommissioned officers held key billets during the ceremony and marched with the noncommissioned officer sword. Sgt. Maj. Allen’s son, Sgt. Robert A.
