U.S. Air Force Capt. Christopher K. Jordan, 968th Expeditionary Airborne Air Control Squadron E-3/B Sentry aircraft commander, maneuvers for in-air refueling from a 908th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron KC-10 Extender advanced aerial tanker and cargo aircraft. The combat sortie supported coalition forces during the Afghan Presidential Elections, April 5, 2014, from an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Refueled in-air twice, the aircrew marked the 968th EAACS’s 4,000th combat sortie since March 2007 when the squadron began flying Operation Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn and Enduring Freedom missions. E-3 Sentry Airmen present broad and detailed live battlespace information to coalition forces and command and control centers. Sentry aircrews detect, identify and track airborne and ground coalition and enemy forces.
