U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Luke Rasch, 968th Expeditionary Airborne Air Control Squadron E-3/B Sentry flight engineer, performs a pre-flight walk around inspection in preparation for a combat sortie supporting coalition forces during the Afghan Presidential Elections, April 5, 2014, from an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Refueled in-air twice, the aircrew marked the 968th EAACS’s 4,000th combat sortie since March 2007 when the squadron began flying Operation Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn and Enduring Freedom missions. E-3 Sentry Airmen present broad and detailed live battlespace information to coalition forces and command and control centers. Sentry aircrews detect, identify and track airborne and ground coalition and enemy forces. Rasch, a Fort Dodge, Iowa native, is deployed from the 963rd Airborne Air Control Squadron, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Jason Robertson/Released)
