A naval warship is captured mid-firing of its forward deck gun, with a large white smoke cloud visible at the muzzle. The vessel appears to be a modern guided-missile destroyer or cruiser, identifiable by its gray hull, deck equipment, and characteristic gun turret design. The ship is underway on open blue ocean under clear conditions.

The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville fires a round from the bow 5-inch gun during a weapons firing exercise with the Indian navy. Chancellorsville and three Indian navy frigates, INS Godavari, INS Brahmaputra and INS Beas, fired 5 inch guns and 25mm guns during the exercise. Chancellorsville and the rest of the Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group are on a routine deployment in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility. Operating in the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean, the U.S. 7th Fleet is the largest of the forward-deployed U.S. fleets covering 52 million square miles, with approximately 50 ships, 120 aircraft and 20,000 Sailors and Marines assigned at any given time.
