An HC-130 P/N King, with the 303rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron (ERQS), redeployed from Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, March 28, 2014. This particular C-130 was the first C-130 Hercules to be converted into the “P” model in 1964, making it a dedicated fixed-wing personnel recovery aircraft. The aircraft was used for the last time by Airmen at the 303rd ERQS, who were deployed from the 71st Rescue Squadron and 723rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Upon arrival back in the states, the aircraft will be retired to the “Bone Yard” at Davis–Monthan AFB, Ariz., where its vital parts will be used to repair other aircraft.
