In the orange glow of the rising sun, Petty Officer 3rd Class Kyle Alhers begins the days routine of a plane captain, by wiping off the condensation formed on the canopy of an F/A-18C Hornet assigned to the "Fist of the Fleet" of Strike Fighter Squadron 25. Plane captains are essential members of the squadron, they are ultimately in charge of making sure that their perspective aircraft is ready to fly by its designated launch time. The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan is currently deployed to the 5th Fleet/NAVCENT area of responsibility. Operations in the NAVCENT area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
