U.S. Marine Maj. Gen. H. Stacy Clardy III and Republic of Korea Marine Maj. Gen. Woo Hyun Hwang board an MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft March 18 during a tour at Daegu Air Base in Daegu, Republic of Korea. The Osprey flew U.S. Marine Lt. Gen. John Wissler to Daegu, so he could observe the 3rd Marine Division’s combined operations center during the command post exercise portion of Marine Expeditionary Force Exercise 2014. MEFEX enhances the interoperability between the U.S. Marine air-ground task force and the ROK Marine task force while honing amphibious capabilities of each nation’s Navy and Marine Corps. General Hwang is the commander of the 1st ROK Marine Division, and Clardy is the commanding general of 3rd Marine Division, III MEF. Wissler is the commanding general of III MEF. The Osprey and crew are with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III MEF.
