U.S. Navy Aviation Machinist's Mate 2nd Class Sithone Soukchareun and Aviation Machinist's Mate Airman Jacob Stringer of Patrol Squadron (VP) 40 start up a corrosion control spraying unit in preparation for an engine compressor wash in Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 5, 2011. The wash was conducted every 200 flight hours to maintain the integrity of the compressor and to prevent corrosion from degrading the internal engine components.
