The new Tactical Communications and Protective Equipment being issued to soldiers is designed to provide active hearing protection while allowing them to maintain situational awareness on the battlefield. The 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), is the first unit to receive the device, which will be issued to four brigades throughout the Army each year.
