Staff Sgt. Thor Andresen performs an Initiated Built In Test on a Joint Direct Attack Munition tail kit using the Common Munitions Bit Reprogramming Equipment test set during a six-month Assembled Munitions Serviceability Inspection on a Joint Direct Attack Munition. AMSIs are conducted to ensure all munitions components are serviceable and within the service life dates. The JDAMs are built and loaded on B-1B Lancers that support Operation Enduring Freedom. Andersen is a 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron conventional munitions maintenance crew chief deployed from Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., and a Lompoc, Calif., native.
