Staff Sgt. Guy Lemmons, a swim instructor, oversees recruits of Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, as they attempt to swim 25 meters during their basic water survival assessment Feb. 3, 2014, on Parris Island, S.C. Lemmons, a 28-year-old from Copan, Okla., and several other Marine swim instructors taught the recruits potentially lifesaving techniques and provided extra instruction to those who struggled or lacked experience. Every recruit must pass the swim qualification to graduate. Charlie Company is scheduled to graduate April 4, 2014. (Photo by Cpl. Octavia Davis)
