Lance Cpl. Stephen Brookover, an administration clerk with Parris Island’s Headquarters and Service Battalion, greets Elsie White before handing her a rose Feb. 11, 2014, at River Oaks Assisted Living in Port Royal, S.C. Service members presented roses to residents and escorted them from their rooms to the cafeteria to enjoy a Valentine’s Day themed meal.
