Adm. Samuel J. Locklear III delivers remarks before an awards ceremony Feb. 7 at the Camp Foster Theater. Locklear, commander of U.S. Pacific Command and located in Hawaii, visited Okinawa to meet with senior U.S. military representatives and thank service members for their efforts during Operation Damayan. He also presented military awards to a soldier, two sailors and a Marine. U.S. military relief efforts during Operation Damayan included approximately 2,748 flight hours, delivering a total of 2,495 tons of humanitarian assistance supplies, and successfully evacuating more than 21,000 people.
