Locklear, commander of U.S. Pacific Command located in Hawaii, visited Okinawa to meet with senior U.S. military representatives and present military awards to service members who participated in Operation Damayan in the Republic of the Philippines. "I want to thank you all for (your efforts during Operation Damayan) and what you do," said Locklear. "Every one of you performed superbly and with initiative."
